These terriers make playful and intelligent companions and although very loving and thriving on human companionship, they can be stubborn at times. They have a natural tendency to dig and crawl under fences, a habit which should be discouraged with proper training at an early age. They are a very sensitive animal which calls for a sympathetic training regimen. They are very smart and excel in obedience, tracking and agility.
They are an ideal non-shedding house pet, grow to a height of 8 - 11 inches, weigh between 18 and 24 pounds and have a life span of 12- 14 years. They are happiest when kept busy. Although they thrive on human companionship, when it comes to children, they seem to prefer those older than 10. They are friendly with other dogs and are good with cats, if raised together. They are non-agressive guest greeters.
